Underneath many women's search for purpose sits a quieter fear than choosing wrong: What if I'm not wise enough to recognize what God is showing me? What if my character isn't strong enough, and the right season passes me by?

“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”1 Thessalonians 5:24

Notice who carries the weight in that verse. Calling begins with the One who calls, and He isn't waiting for you to become clever enough to decode Him. Guidance is not an intelligence test. When wisdom is lacking, Scripture's instruction is simply to ask, and it “will be given” (James 1:5).

The same is true of character. God doesn't hold your calling back until your character qualifies; He forms your character on the way to it. Moses spent forty years in the wilderness after running from Egypt. Peter denied Jesus three times and was restored to feed His sheep. Their unfinished seasons didn't disqualify them — that's where they were being prepared.

So the more honest question isn't “am I capable enough not to miss it?” It's “am I staying near to Him today?” That one you can answer right now — and He is faithful to do the rest.
