Many women carry more than one clear sense of calling at the same time — a pull toward motherhood and a pull toward a specific ministry, a vocational gift and a caregiving responsibility — and feel guilty for not having one tidy answer to “what is my calling.” Scripture doesn't actually require that tidiness.
“There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.”1 Corinthians 12:4–6
Multiple callings often aren't competing for the same slot — they're facets of one unified Kingdom purpose, expressed in different rooms. A woman called to disciple others might live that out as a mother, a mentor, and a friend, all at once, without any of those being a distraction from “the real calling.” The unity is in the Spirit behind them, not in narrowing life down to a single lane.
That said, having multiple genuine callings doesn't mean unlimited capacity to pursue all of them in full at once. Stewarding well still means sequencing — giving fuller weight to one expression in a given season while another stays present but smaller. That isn't abandoning a calling; it's stewarding several faithfully rather than doing all of them poorly.
A useful question when several pulls feel real: are these actually the same purpose showing up in different places, or genuinely competing uses of the same limited time? The first usually doesn't need to be resolved, only stewarded well together. The second usually does need a season of priority — not because one calling is less real than the other, but because faithfulness in what's most in front of you right now is still faithfulness.
