Many people spend years asking, “What is God's purpose for my life?” While the question is sincere, Scripture suggests that God begins somewhere deeper. Before assigning a mission, He shapes our identity.
Romans 8:29 tells us that God's purpose is first to conform us to the image of His Son. This means our greatest calling is not a role, title, or career — it is becoming more like Christ. As our character is transformed, our decisions, relationships, leadership, and service begin to reflect His nature.

When identity is rooted in achievements, approval, or performance, uncertainty and comparison often follow. But when identity is anchored in being a beloved child of God, purpose becomes an expression of who we are rather than something we strive to earn.
Instead of asking, “What should I do?” consider asking, “Who is God inviting me to become?” The answer to that question often becomes the foundation from which lasting purpose naturally unfolds.
