The world's view of leadership often emphasizes position, authority, and influence. Jesus presented a radically different model. He taught that true greatness is found in serving others, not being served. His leadership was marked by humility, compassion, courage, and sacrifice.
Servant leadership does not mean avoiding difficult decisions or neglecting responsibility. Rather, it means using influence to help others flourish. A servant leader listens before speaking, develops people rather than controlling them, and measures success not only by results but also by the growth and well-being of those entrusted to their care.
Whether leading a family, a ministry, a business, or a project team, the question is not, “How can I increase my authority?” but, “How can I faithfully steward the influence God has given me?”
Jesus demonstrated that leadership begins with character before competence. As we grow in humility and Christlikeness, our leadership becomes a reflection of His kingdom rather than the values of the world.
